Guided walk: Xenia - Meeting Our New Floral Neighbours
Guided walk: Xenia - Meeting Our New Floral Neighbours
Join reconciliation ecologist and plant writer Pete Yeo for a guided amble around Hartland village contemplating Xenia, the ancient Greek notion of hospitality to strangers, as it applies to those plants that have leapt our garden fences and found a home in the wider landscape. Meet these new neighbours and hear the cultural and ecological stories that have led them here.
Expect inspiration, the invitation to share your own stories, and a healthy dose of gratitude. Perhaps also some fine weather!
This event is part of the Hartland Book Festival. We will leave the Parish Hall at 10 am for a 2-hour walk. The book festival is 10 am - 3pm, so feel free to browse local author's books, and have some coffee and cake.
Tickets £8
Plants have been a golden thread running through Pete’s life and he is honoured to be working with them now as portals to both deeper awareness of our ecological relationships and greater wellbeing within and without. As a freelance reconciliation ecologist and nature mentor he gives talks, guides walks, engages in consultancy, writes and broadcasts in this spirit.
