Discover a happier, fitter you with Rebecca’s weekly dance classes! Move to fabulous music with easy, low-impact steps inspired by African dance, samba, salsa, Bollywood, pop, and more. Enjoy a fun mix of salsa, world-dance moves, and Afrobics in Rebecca’s warm and welcoming classes.
Rebecca will introduce us to Gule Wamkulu – also known as ‘The Great Dance’ – performed by the Nyau, a secret society of the Chewa tribe of Malawi. This is a masked dance representing the spirits of the ancestors.
This five-part course will run on consecutive Wednesday evenings (6.30pm-7.30pm GMT) from 14 January to 11 February via Zoom.
All classes will be recorded and sent out weekly. You will receive recordings of previous classes if you join the course after the 14 January.
Tickets £45 for the 5 classes - includes recordings of each class (recordings will be available for a limited time and are not downloadable).
What to bring:
Please bring a sarong/large soft scarf (cotton/silk/nylon) which we wave about to create fun moves!
Please wear comfortable exercise clothing such as leggings and a loose tee-shirt and any soft trainers. If you wear socks, they need to cut away the sock toes and heels so as to be non-slip and grip the floor.
Please have drinking water available.
Make space in your home:
You need to make space, clear away furniture and if possible lift your arms up and wave a scarf so it does not crash into ceilings, walls, and furniture.
If you have any mobility or health conditions, please consult your doctor to declare you fit to exercise. We will assume this has been done and can take no responsibility if you fall or have an accident while participating in the class.
