Reading for Wellbeing Workshop

Mon 7 Dec 2026 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM GMT Online, Zoom

Every reader knows the transformative power of books to guide us through life, sweep us away to a distant land, or to just sit with us in the trenches when things aren’t going so well. This is the essence of bibliotherapy: the use of books and reading for the enhancement of wellbeing. Drawing from fiction, together we will explore the extent to which books can help us navigate the everyday.

In this session, Manon will guide you through close independent readings, gentle reflections and group discussions on a range of fictional texts. Participants are encouraged to 'come as they are'. No pre-reading or knowledge of the texts is required.

Manon Martini is first and foremost a reader. She holds a Level 2 certificate in counselling skills, an MA in English Literature, and has an NCPS Quality-Checked Certificate in Bibliotherapy Skills. She is also the Marketing Manager for The Resurgence Trust. Manon combines her love of books with her passion for helping people connect with reading, offering ‘Reading for Wellbeing’ sessions within the community and sharing bookish content, including her indie bookshop series on her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/manonsreadingbooks/
