Join world-renowned investigative journalist, author and environmental campaigner George Monbiot for a livestream talk and interactive Q&A. George will unpack some of the complex problems behind the world’s most pressing and persistent issues, exploring the catastrophic effect of consumption on people and planet.
LOVE IT TV in association with The Ecologist and Resurgence Events brings you an evening designed to educate, engage and entertain. This multicamera, studio event with George will include a powerful poetry performance from Climbing PoeTree, animation from TreeSisters, talks from visionaries such as Satish Kumar, Gabriela Cabana-Alvear, Jonathan Neale and Mac Macartney from Embercombe, as well as music from Mobius Loop and Tallulah Rendall.

We want this event to be accessible to as many people as possible, so we have a scale of ticket prices. Please choose the ticket price that you can afford. If you want to watch the livestream with other household members, we recommend £15 minimum.

Gabriela Cabaña
Gabriela Cabaña explores the intersections between degrowth, feminist critiques of the economy and anti-colonial struggles for self-determination. She is also a Basic Income advocate. Garbiela is based in Chiloé, south of Chile, as part of her Anthropology PhD studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. There she is looking into energy transitions in the context of the ongoing climate and ecological emergency and how the narratives about the future of energy reproduce colonial and extractive relations.
She is part of the Centro de Análisis Socioambiental (Centre for Social-Environmental Analysis) and the Red Chilena de Ingreso Básico (Chilean Basic Income Network).
TreeSisters
TreeSisters is a social change and reforestation charity that places tropical forest restoration into everyone’s hands. They fund a diverse portfolio of tropical reforestation projects that are ethical and community-led to expand natural forest cover and avoid further deforestation. Their ethical and community-led projects improve livelihoods, protect critically endangered species, and focus on gender parity and the participation of women. Satish Kumar
Life-long activist and former monk, Satish Kumar has been inspiring global change for over 50 years. Now in his 80s, Satish has devoted his life to campaigning for ecological regeneration, social justice and spiritual fulfilment. An acclaimed author and international speaker, Satish founded The Resurgence Trust, an educational charity that seeks a just future for all. Jonathan Neale

Mac Macartney is an international speaker, writer and change-maker. He is also the founder of the leadership-based social enterprise, Embercombe. During this training and ever since, he has attempted to bring two worlds together – an ancient world-view that emphasises relationship, interdependence, and reverence for life with the significant challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century.
