A super event for your diary, Hartland Book Festival promises to be a relaxed, intimate affair. A chance for authors and readers to connect, chat and eat cake – it’s a brilliant, FREE entry, friendly festival.

Environmental, educational charity, The Resurgence Trust, which runs The Resurgence Centre in Hartland, North Devon, is hosting the 'Hartland Book Festival' on 29 April at Hartland Parish Hall, EX39 6BL.
General admission (10am-3pm)
Twenty local authors will attend the bank holiday event, there will be something for all types of bookworms. If you love romance novels, you enjoy spy thrillers, or you’re a sci-fi fan come and meet the friendly authors, buy books, and enjoy some delicious cake at Hartland Parish Hall!
Children's poetry session (11am-12pm)
Children can take part in a free poetry workshop with Cornish author Emma Grigg. The fun, interactive hour for primary school aged children will engage children in making a poetry play. Please book a space for your child, the session will be from 11am-12pm.
Satish Kumar book signing (2-3pm)
Author and activist Satish Kumar who is well known for his epic 1960s walk for world peace from India to Washington, DC, will be there signing his latest book ‘Radical Love’. Please book a space to meet Satish from 2-3pm.
The Resurgence Trust book shop stall will be offering books that reflect a worldview integrating ecological and social justice and a holistic philosophy infused with spirituality and creativity.
Satish Kumar, editor emeritus, Resurgence & Ecologist magazine, says: “Hartland has always been a hub for creative people. From artists and potters to poets and authors, many people are inspired by the landscape and coast. The book festival will be a celebration showcasing local talent.”
