Welcome to The Seashell Garden 🌱

Calm, nature-based play sessions for babies and toddlers aged 12 months to 4 years at the beautiful NECA Community Garden in South Shields — proud winner of The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

Our sessions are small, unhurried and completely child-led. Children explore soil, seeds, shells, pebbles and water alongside their parent or carer in one of South Tyneside's most loved community spaces.

📅 Block 1 — every Saturday morning, 6th June to 11th July

⏰ 10am – 11am

📍 NECA Community Garden, South Shields

👶 Ages 12 months to 4 years

👥 Maximum 8 children per session

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent or carer stays throughout — always

What happens in a session?

Each session follows a gentle nature theme — planting and growing, mud kitchen, seed bombs, leaf printing, water and pebble play and a sunflower celebration to finish the block. Every child takes something home from every session.

What to wear and bring

Clothes you don't mind getting muddy — wellies or sturdy shoes recommended. We provide absolutely everything else.

Single session — £8 per child

All bookings are non-refundable. We understand plans change — if you're unable to attend your booked session please contact us at least 24 hours in advance at hello@theseashellgarden.co.uk and we'll do our best to transfer your booking to another available session in the current block, subject to availability. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows are unfortunately unable to be transferred. In the event of cancellation by The Seashell Garden you will be offered a full refund or transfer to an alternative date.
