The Sifarish Network’s first event of 2023 will focus on connecting University students with local South Asian business and professional subject matter experts sharing insights and experiences of their professional and personal journeys in a variety of sectors. The Sifarish Network will highlight and showcase professionals with deep expertise in their respective fields and connect them with University of Alberta students looking for information and guidance to begin their career journey. Professionals from the Medical, Human Resources, Legal, Engineering, Finance/Accounting, and the Technology and Innovation sectors will be available to chat with students and provide information in a roundtable conversational format. Organizations represented include the City of Edmonton, University of Alberta, Flair Airlines, ATB Financial, Canadian Western Bank, and more each sharing their expertise as well as feature stories and anecdotes from their lives. There will be Chai and snacks provided to all participants courtesy of Remedy Cafe.

Sifarish Background Information:

● The Sifarish Network is a non-profit organization created to bring together, connect, and uplift the South Asian community at large with a laser focus on professionals and business people through the power of peer to peer networking and community activations.

● The meaning of Sifarish is commendation or recommendation. This defines the spirit of our group. Our aim is to create a social avenue and platform for South Asian professionals and business people to come together and support each other’s success through their professional and business journey and build bridges to the larger community in Canada.
