The Ganzfeld Procedure is a simple experiment that involves listening to white noise and looking at a uniform field of light. After several minutes, many people who try it report interesting visual and auditory hallucinations.
During this event we'll cover the history and science of the Ganzfeld Effect - what causes it and how it has been perceived through history. After this you'll optionally be able to try out the Effect for yourself, then discuss your experience with fellow attendees. Most people who try out the Experiment hear hallucinatory music or sounds, and see hallucinatory colours, shapes or repeating patterns. The experience is different for everyone!
NB: The Ganzfeld Procedure has no lasting effects whatsoever, and is a simple visual/auditory phenomena that anyone can experience, and that can be halted at any time.
The International Ghost Society is a paranormal investigation society based in Edinburgh. As well as ghost hunts, they organise historical tours and events, and curate the YouTube channel Ghost Society, which covers local history, strange phenomena and folklore.
