Companioning Grief: A Pilgrimage into the Land of Loss
You are invited to join us on a journey into the complex and sometimes lonely landscape of loss and grief. We will draw on Western perspectives rooted in culture, mystical traditions, and creative practices.
Through expressive mediums and embodied activities, you will curate the spiritual practice of memento mori, “remembering you will die,” in a meaningful and sustainable way. Through the power of storytelling and communal support, you will share your own experiences of grief within a compassionate community. Together, we will cultivate a posture of presence, learning to navigate our grief journeys while offering support to others.

Dr. Darcy Hansen Bio:
Darcy Hansen is a wonderer and a wanderer who is learning to breathe, listen, and abide within the liminal spaces of life. She holds a Master of Divinity (concentration in Spiritual Direction) and a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Global Perspectives from Portland Seminary. Her research focuses on discovering ways to embrace our humanity more fully so we are better equipped to care for the dying, dead, and grieving in our communities. She is a faculty administrator at Portland Seminary, overseeing the spiritual direction certification program and serving as the Associate Director of Doctoral Programs. As a certified spiritual director, Darcy walks alongside others through the holy and hard of life, seeking the Divine along the way. To learn more, see www.darcylhansen.com.
