This is an exciting evening in prospect. When 5 of London’s top musicians got together to jam and play some blues the results were more than they’d expected. So much so that the LSD Band was formed. This blues/rock collective boasts a set list that includes classics from The Allman Brothers, early Fleetwood Mac, Cream, JJ Cale, Ry Cooder, Joe Walsh and many more.
The members have superb CVs and consist of:
Matt Backer (guitar/vocal) out of New Orleans who has played with the likes of Steve Winwood, Joe Cocker, Julian Lennon as well as releasing 5 solo albums; Dzal Martyn (guitar/vocals who is one of London’s most in-demand session players, a core guitarist in the ’80’s Box of Frogs project featuring Jeff Beck; Jimmy Page & Rory Gallagher. He was a member of the Equals for many years and his session work has included Van Morrison, Meatloaf, Nazareth, Nik Kershaw and Whiney Houston. For the last 10 years he has been lead guitarist with the Trembling Wilburys;Steve Salvari (keyboards/vocals) co-founder of Brit-Funk band Central Line who has worked with Chaka Khan, Robert Palmer, Lulu, Barry White and the Libertines. His tribute version of the late, great Billy Preston’s ’That’s The Way God Planned It’ just has to be heard.Vince Lewis (bass/vocals) has played with them all and especially Lee Ryder’s Blues Deluxe, a blues band that has played world wide and of whom Blues USA magazine once wrote 'Blues Magazine USA once wrote, "As blues bands go it doesn't get much better!” Dave Stark (drums) is a music industry professional who has played in Raw Deal, Riviera Feedback as well as with Randy Bachman, Denny Laine and Mike Berry amongst many others.. Dave played with highly successful tribute band the John Lennon Experience and formed the Trembling Wilburys in 2011.
They’ve already played The Dublin Castle, Crawdaddy Club and Wimbledon Park to great acclaim. On January 28th the LSD band will be joined by Elisa Backer on vocals
