Eurydice | A Sarah Ruhl Play
Multiple dates and times
The Spark, 80301
Description
Sarah Ruhl re-imagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine, Eurydice. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. The play was written after Ruhl lost a parent, and speaks to a destructive impulse that may exist within all people. With contemporary characters and ingenious plot twists, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story.
Eurydice premiered off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre on June 18, 2007. Sarah Ruhl is an award-winning American playwright, author, essayist, and professor. Her plays have been produced on Broadway and across the country as well as internationally, and translated into fourteen languages. She is the recipient of a Helen Merrill Emerging Playwrights Award.
Run Time is approx 1-hr and 45-mins including a 15-min Intermission.
