We are happy to offer our members an extra lecture, free of charge to coincide with the well publicised exhibition at the British Museum.

Imogen Corrigan, who will have given our morning lecture on ‘The Men who Built the Cathedrals’ will give a further lecture in the afternoon, at the Steyning Centre at 2pm.

Imogen will begin by exploring who made the Bayeux Tapestry, where it was created, and why. Not only is the tapestry a story of the most famous battle in English history, it’s also a tale of kings, chivalry and ambition. Looking at many of the scenes in detail, we will consider what might be learned from this depiction of a turning point in history.

Visitor booking opens on the 12th October 2026, with a suggested donation of £10 per person.
