About the leader
Rosie Sleightholme is a Bristol-based community choir leader, composer and Natural Voice Network member, known for her welcoming leadership and her belief that singing is for everyone. She has a strong reputation for teaching harmony by ear with clarity and warmth, helping groups quickly find a relaxed, vibrant ensemble sound.

As a choir composer, Rosie loves to write songs with lush and scrunchy harmonies, with a range of styles and emotions, with some longer ones which are slightly more challenging, and others which are easy to pick up. All her songs can be taught by ear and she loves trying out new material with her choirs and at workshops and camps. Rosie’s songs are published via ChoirCommunity, and also via her website.

What we’ll do on the day
We’ll learn some of Rosie’s original choir compositions by ear in a friendly, well-paced flow—building confidence, blend and musical connection as the room comes together. Expect satisfying repertoire, thoughtful teaching, and a great sense of shared achievement.

Who it’s for
Ideal for singers who love harmony and want a warm, musically solid day—no note-reading required.

The Stonegate Singers are a busy community choir based in York UK. Recent performance include concerts around York, and events such as the Stonegate Singers Ceilidh Night, together with the brilliant folk band The House Devils. The Stonegate Singers have performed live on the BBC, and as part of community events such as The Great Get Together in Rowntree Park. In August 2017, we performed in the Creswell Crags limestone gorge as part of Refugium, a new mixed media piece by director Jon Hughes.
