Zimbabwean Harmony Singing with Bruce Ncube

This will be a wonderful day working with Zimbabwean singer/songwriter & percussionist Bruce Ncube.

Bruce Ncube is a creative director now based in the UK. He does a lot of developmental work across the United Kingdom & in Zimbabwe, where he runs his festival called Africa Day in Njube.

As an artist Bruce seeks to preserve his Zimbabwean traditional culture through teaching songs, dances, telling stories and rhythms to different audiences in the United Kingdom & back in his native Zimbabwe. Bruce specialises in teaching songs from Zimbabwe/Southern Africa in 3 to 6 part harmonies. In Bruce's own words: 'my method of teaching is in the oral/aural way; reminiscent of when people would gather around a fire in the evenings, or whilst working in the fields & start weaving harmonies.'

The workshops are inclusive & participatory & you don't need to be experienced in singing to take part. The songs Bruce teaches are emotionally charged & uplifting, designed to build participants' confidence as singers.

Free parking available on site. The hall is ground floor and fully accessible.

There will be tea, coffee, snacks and cold drinks provided. Please bring your own lunch. There are shops 5 minutes walk away from the venue.
