Somatic Dance: The Body as Home
A Calling Home – The Body as Home is a Somatic Activated Healing™ (SAH Method) practice, a trauma-informed, body-based approach that blends: somatic movement breath work mantra and meditation music and free, intuitive movement.
Rather than intellectualizing or talking about emotions, this practice invites the body to lead, allowing sensations and stored emotions to be expressed and gently released through movement. We work from a bottom-up approach, using the body and felt sensations as the entry point, rather than analyzing thoughts or revisiting specific traumatic memories.
As a certified SAH Method™ teacher, I guide participants to “drop the story and be with the feeling,” creating a safe space for emotions to move without re-engaging with the narratives around them.
Participants can expect a guided, supportive experience that helps to: ground and regulate the nervous system reconnect with physical sensations gently release what has been held in the body cultivate moments of safety, steadiness, and embodied presence There is no choreography, no performance, and no “right way” to move. This session is an invitation to move, shake, soften, and play, to let energy flow more freely through the body, release what feels stuck, and reconnect with joy, aliveness, and a sense of home within.
