Join Natalia at Colet House from 3 September to learn a traditional yet little-known Qigong system called Jin Mai Gong that will help restore the free flow of energy throughout your body.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese art for energy cultivation. This vital energy, known as Qi (or Chi), flows continuously throughout the body via a network of channels that act like a vast system of rivers and tributaries, nourishing our whole organism.
Some of these channels are called meridians and are responsible for supplying our internal organs with Qi in a smooth and continuous way. When this flow of Qi becomes excessive, deficient or blocked, the body's balance is disrupted and illness may arise.
In this eight-week course, you will learn six essential Qigong exercises that help keep the energy of the main organs of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) flowing smoothly through their meridians, preventing blockages and, consequently, the development of illness.
We will work specifically on the six tendino-muscular (sinew) meridians associated with the six Yin organs: the Lungs, Spleen, Heart, Kidneys, Xin Bao (Heart Protector) and Liver.
These tendino-muscular meridians are made up of the tendons, muscles and fascia that surround the main meridians. Using effective stretches together with circular and spiralling movements, we will help release restrictions in these tissues, allowing Qi to flow more freely through the meridians.
Benefits of this system:
- Releases blockages and restores the free flow of Qi through the meridians, improving the function of the internal organs.
- Improves the emotional states associated with energetic imbalances in the internal organs.
- Helps eliminate excess fat and toxins accumulated in the fascia.
- Strengthens the immune system by supporting the body's defensive energy (Wei Qi) in the subcutaneous layers.
- Supports recovery from muscular tension, ligament problems, inflammation and joint weakness.
- Promotes greater freedom of movement throughout the body.
