Join us on October 2nd for a workshop that will support you to deepen your understanding of the meaning of safeguarding and child protection in your professional practice. This session is tailored to professionals who work with children and young people and have the designated responsibility of receiving and handling concerns that may arise within their client cohort. The day will build on your knowledge base and help you to feel more informed and confident as you move forward in your practice. As well as being enriching, the workshop will be an empowering session where you will gain additional tools to elevate in your role as an advocate for vulnerable youth.
Please note: this is the equivalent of a Level 3 Safeguarding Training.

Aims and Objectives of the day:
- Review foundational concepts related to safeguarding and child protection
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a designated safeguarding professional
- Describe key legislation and guidance related to safeguarding and child protection
- Explore assessment skills and the role of communication in relation to safeguarding and child protection
- Demonstrate an understanding around how to handle concerns, including complaints and allegations against staff
- Understand what happens after a referral is made
- Discuss multi-agency working
- Explore your relationship to the area of safeguarding and child protection, including the influence of your values
- Discuss case examples
Learning Methods:
The day will utilise an array of learning and teaching styles including small group discussions, multimedia methods, and lecture delivery.
Handouts, additional learning resources, and recommended reading will be provided.

About Jessica:
Jessica Spenceley is a highly experienced international therapist, social worker, and facilitator whose specialisms include trauma, grief, adoption, and safeguarding. She has a wealth of experience in health and social care settings utilising an integrative and relational model of practice providing direct services to children and families. Jessica has managed child protection and safeguarding services within the charity sector, and she is involved in work as a provider of therapeutic and assessment services, trainer, and leader in adoption support service development and implementation.

BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Please note the ticket price includes any handouts the trainer may wish to share with you - which will be sent out AFTER the event has taken place - and a CPD certificate.
All bookings to be paid in full except where private arrangements have been made to pay in instalments and agreed by us. Tickets &/ or any instalment payments are non-refundable once payment has been made. You can re-sell or transfer your ticket to another attendee up to 24 hours before the event opens - as long as we have notice in writing with their name. On request The Sunflower Network Ltd. may be able to help advertise and/or facilitate any re-sales but this will incur an admin fee of £15.00 to cover our costs including subsequent charges we receive from the ticket providers. Please note The Sunflower Network Ltd. cannot ever guarantee a successful re-sale and responsibility for finding a new purchaser remains with the original ticket holder at all times. No transfer or refund will be considered for a 'no show' on the day of the event for whatever reason.
If you are booking a ticket as part of a discount offer, only ONE discount can be applied to a ticket at any one time.
The Sunflower Network Ltd. reserves the right to make changes to the booking terms and conditions, the timetable, content and/or any events at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation by us and if we cannot offer an alternative date, we will refund the cost of the ticket price for the event in full. We will not be responsible for any further cost incurred by you in relation to your booking.
