Community Film Project Launch and Screening

Junior Sports Hub and The University of Leeds Sustainability Service invite you to attend the launch of the 2026 community film project at The Point, Harehills. Produced by students in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds, NOS is a hard-hitting short film addressing the dangers of drug-driving and the devastating impacts it can have on families and communities. 

Join us to celebrate the successes of an ambitious project  with screenings of NOS and making-of documentary, a Q&A, lunch and networking. 

This project is presented in collaboration with, and thanks to, the University of Leeds Sustainability Service, Junior Sports Hub, Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Junior Sports Hub

Nested in the heart of the Harehills community, JSH is a well-established charity dedicated to supporting some of Leeds’ most disadvantaged, vulnerable, and isolated children and young people. Through structured sports programmes, mentoring, and community engagement, JSH helps them realise their potential and feel empowered within a safe, supportive environment. 

The University of Leeds Community Projects Programme

Delivered under the University's Sustainability Social Impact team, the Community Projects Programme works with students, academic schools and community organisations in Leeds to co-create mutually beneficial projects that improve quality of live, provide opportunities for student and community development and promote social responsibility. Previous projects include the creation of a new forest garden at a primary school, music workshops with senior groups and the creation of two murals at Junior Sports Hub.
