Description
Join Jessica Chivers – psychologist, author and host of COMEBACK COACH - plus special guest, Dr Kathleen O'Connor, Professor of Organisational Behaviour at London Business School, for HOW TO FUEL YOUR CAREER & ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. Submit a question when you book or Dr O'Connor and Jessica live during the session.
One of our coaching team, Sarah-Jane, also coaches on a range of LBS programmes and says: "I love the way Kathleen combines academic rigour with brilliant, light touch practical tips on her women’s programmes. Her warmth and enthusiasm inspires women to grab these new ways of being from her sessions and put them into practice then and there - with immediate impact on their careers. As these women tell us: ’she got us out of our hiding places and into the limelight’".
About Dr Kathleen O'Connor
Kathleen has co-founded and co-directs the women’s programmes at London Business School. These programmes emphasise the importance of sponsorship in accelerating women’s careers, building and leveraging networks, and skills both to lead others and to negotiate for oneself with confidence.
She has more than two decades of experience working with both senior executives and developing managers. Her focus is to help them enhance their leadership capabilities by sharing the science of what works when it comes to leading healthier, happier, more productive and more innovative groups and organisations.
An award-winning teacher and globally-recognised scholar, O’Connor’s best known scientific research focuses on how negotiators can improve their outcomes at the bargaining table. Recent work explores unconscious bias and how it drives tactics and decisions in negotiation. Over the years, her research has been honoured by awards from leading research organizations, including the Academy of Management and the International Association for Conflict Management.
Her current corporate clients include World Economic Forum, Deutsche Bank, Renault, and YPO.
She received a B.S. from Cornell University, and an A.M. and Ph.D. in social and organizational psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has held tenured and visiting faculty appointments at Rice University and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and, for more than 20 years, at Cornell University’s Johnson College of Business.
How do I ask a question?
Two easy ways. You can send it in advance on the registration form or ask via the chat box on the night.
Why are you hosting Comeback Conversations?
We are on a mission to keep everyone everywhere feeling confident, connected and cared for when they take extended leave from work. These 'Comeback Conversations' are part of the Comeback Community™ employee experience and once our clients have had first dibs we once spare spots to everyone absolutely free.
Can I listen again later?
Recordings of Comeback Conversations are available to the people whose employers subscribe to the full Comeback Community™ experience.
You can listen to our podcast, COMEBACK COACH, free any time.
How do I get access?
We’d love your employer to bring the full Comeback Community™ employee experience to every colleague who’s taking maternity, shared parental leave, adoption leave, sabbatical or sick leave where you work. Introduce us to your HR team and you could receive a beautiful box of goodies (because we love sending postal joy to people who think of others).
Can I come in my PJs?
Yes! Come as you are in all your natural glory. In your PJs, in your sweaty gym gear, whatever you like. Listen whilst you’re cooking supper; watch whilst you’re feeding your baby; take us to the toilet or whilst you’re quaffing a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We don’t care what you’re wearing, where you are or what you’re drinking (PJs may not be appropriate at work and please drink responsibly: hot chocolate and laptops don't mix). We just want you with us!
Do I have to say anything or can I just watch?
You can be completely anonymous just like you’re watching TV at home. Just leave your camera off and and you don’t even need to use your real name when you sign in if you prefer. We’ll have everyone on mute so you don’t have to worry about embarrassing sounds in the background.
