Join master embroiderer Kirstie Campbell as she guides you on a stitching journey inspired by The Great Tapestry of Scotland and The Spirit of the Highlands and Islands Tapestry.
Enjoy a full day of sublime sewing, creative company, and delightful hospitality in the beautiful surroundings of Baddinsgill House, near West Linton in the Scottish Borders. Using a selection of exclusive embroidery designs by artist Andrew Crummy, Kirstie will lead you through a range of stitching, applique, and cording techniques used in the Tapestry projects, and you will create a stitched artwork of your own to take home with you.
Suitable for intermediate-advanced stitchers.
The full day workshop includes all materials, tea, coffee and pastries on arrival, buffet lunch, and afternoon tea and cake. Parking is free. Please advise us of any dietary or accessibility requirements when making your booking.
Baddinsgill House is the private residence of the Marshall Family on Baddinsgill Farm. It sits nestled into the Pentland Hills, surrounded by gorgeous forests and heather-clad moorland.
Anticipated schedule for the day:
10.00am Welcome tea/coffee and pastries
10.30am-12.30pm Introduction to techniques and materials, work on embroidery project
12.30pm-1.30pm Lunch
1.30pm-3.30pm Work on embroidery project
3.30pm- 4.00pm Farewell tea and cake
