The Sketchbook Studio Afterschool Club - Autumn 2026 - Wyndham Park

A 5- week, small-group, afterschool studio focused on sketchbooks, materials, and creative thinking led by artist and experienced teacher.

The Sketchbook Studio – KS2 Afterschool Club (7-11 years old)

Sessions run weekly - every Friday from 18th September for 5 weeks. 4.30pm - 5.45pm

Sessions will be on  - Friday 18 September - Friday 25 September - Friday 2 October - Friday 9 October  - Friday 16 October

Booking price - £60 for 5 sessions

This is not a step-by-step art class or a session where everyone produces the same piece of work. Instead, children are supported to explore materials, experiment with ideas, and develop confidence through process-led making.

Project: Colour

This term at Sketchbook Studio Art Club, we’ll be continuing to build strong drawing skills while taking a deeper dive into the exciting possibilities of colour.

Through playful, practical activities, the children will explore how artists make intentional colour choices to strengthen their work. We’ll experiment with harmonious and complementary colours, discover what happens when we work with reduced colour palettes and monotones, and explore how colour can create mood, contrast and atmosphere.

Alongside our colour work, we’ll continue with regular drawing exercises designed to develop observation, confidence, line and mark-making.

As always, the sessions are process-led rather than step-by-step. Children will be introduced to fundamental artistic skills and techniques, then given the freedom to experiment, make their own choices and develop artwork that feels individual to them.

5-week block | Fridays, 4:30–5:45pm | Wyndham Park

All high-quality art materials are provided, and every child will receive a new sketchbook to use throughout the block.
