Growing Up - Keeping your trees alive and well over the summer months
Tue 25 Jun 2024 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM BST
Online, Zoom
Description
Our next session in our tree growing series, Growing Up will look at introducing you to some of the main things we need to think about when keeping our young trees alive and thriving over the difficult summer months.
We'll cover basics in weeding, watering, feeding and thwarting pests and diseases during this time and give you some jobs that you can be doing at this time of the year.
There will be a Q&A session in the second half of the talk for any questions you might have about anything covered in the talks or linked so please do ask questions!
We have some great guest speakers who are joining us for Growing Up to talk all about their projects!
Matt Knight, one of our Regional School’s Leads here at The Tree Council will be showing us round their tree growing enterprise in his school, where he is Head of Sustainability and Ecology.
Karen Dunlop, Lecturer, Tree Warden of The Tree Nursery and much more at Easton College will be talking all about how they grow trees and get the students involved at Easton.
Our in-house tree propagation whizz, Phil Paulo, will be delivering his usual, Jobs for the Weekend slot, giving you some ideas of the kind of things you can be doing in your own little nursery right now to help your trees this summer.
We look forward to seeing you there!
