The 8th Annual Workshop on Advances in X-ray Imaging is a collaboration between The University of Manchester at Harwell, 3Dmagination Ltd and the Collaborative Computational Project in Tomographic Imaging (CCPi) with the aim of bringing together scientists from different fields to discuss developments and applications of a variety of X-Ray imaging and complementary techniques, and to build international collaborations.  The topic of this year’s conference will focus on correlative imaging techniques (coupling X-rays, neutrons, diffraction, electron microscopy), 4D in situ imaging (X-ray tomography), Big Data/Machine learning and quantification of data (advanced image processing, in situ strain mapping, modelling).

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT ONLY.  This event will not be recorded and there will be no capacity to join online.

Agenda
Professor Jayne Lawrence, Director, The University of Manchester at Harwell, will open the workshop and deliver the welcome speech, followed by presentations from our invited speakers listed below. Please download the agenda here.

  • motivation and impact
  • originality of the experiment and/or image processing workflow to address the research hypothesis
  • sophisticated use of data analysis and visualisation
  • overall presentation

We are delighted that our partnering organisation, CCPi, will be providing Amazon vouchers for the poster prizes, 1st £100, 2nd £75 and 3rd £50.

Accommodation & food
Workshop attendees are responsible for making and paying for their own accommodation arrangements.  Refreshments will be provided free of charge throughout the day of the workshop, including tea, coffee, biscuits, water and fruit juice, and a buffet lunch including vegetarian options.
