Our popular, well rounded antenatal classes cover everything you need to know from pregnancy, to different types of birth experience and the postnatal period - including caring for and feeding your baby! Plus meet a group of local friends all meeting their baby around the same time as you!
The course will be covering physiological birth, how to help yourself through the different stages of labour, induction of labour, assisted birth, caesarean birth, how to make yourself as comfortable as possible at the end of pregnancy, the postnatal recovery period, slings & carriers, the fourth trimester with baby, baby care and all things feeding baby... As you can tell, we cover a lot! You will get a thorough handout of information plus lots of follow up links and Lisa is at the other end of the phone (via WhatsApp!) for any questions you might have.

During the course we cover:
Session 1 - Pregnancy, labour and birth physiology, hormones and birth environment, place of birth, home birth, waterbirth, birth centre, pain relief in labour, active birth, biomechanics for birth, aromatherapy and massage, birth of the placenta, cord clamping, skin to skin, vitamin k for baby.
Session 2 - Monitoring during pregnancy and labour, risk, due dates, birth politics, decision making, delivery suite birth, induction of labour, natural induction methods, assisted birth, caesarean section, decision making, role of the birth partner.
Session 3 - Postnatal recovery by an expert women's pelvic health physio, the golden hour, immediate post birth timeline, postnatal mental health, relationship changes, postnatal planning, breastfeeding physiology, getting breastfeeding off to the best start.
Session 4 - Common feeding issues, combi feeding, expressing, formula feeding, newborn behaviour, physiology, sleep, safe sleep well, infant mental health, responsive parenting and attachment, baby care (nappies, skincare, cord care, bathing), signs of an unwell baby and emergency first aid, newborn baby wearing.

Pricing:
To book your place on the course you will need to pay £92 for your ticket now and the remaining balance of £138, is due a week prior to the antenatal course. Details of how to make the final payment will be emailed to you directly. You only need to book one place on the course whether you are single or in a couple - one place per pregnant person!
