Instruction will focus on wood shop safety as students learn basic woodworking skills using a variety of hand tools. As students work through each step of their project, they will gain a basic understanding of wood properties, design, measuring and safe and proper use of tools. A variety of projects will help students to continue to develop skills to prepare for more challenging future projects. This course is a prerequisite for all other youth wood shop courses.
