United We Stitch - A Nationwide Community Art Project

"United We Stitch" is a nationwide community art project which strives to create unity through the art of textiles. Anyone is invited to participate in this event to create a flag-sized cloth panel that expresses your hopes for America’s future, to visually articulate your personal or broader vision of our country’s path forward. What do you love about America? What future do you desire for all of us? Flags will then be displayed in communities around the nation on September 20. Here in Vermont, Indivisible Mad River Valley is hosting an exhibit of 50+ flag-sized cloth panels on the VT State House lawn September 20th, 2026 (The International Day of Peace) as part of the nationwide display.

Join MakerSphere for a free workshop to create your own 3' x 5' panel. All info and specs that must be adhered to may be found on the website below. Sewing machines, some fabric (feel free to also bring some) and other media will be available. Come one or both nights to work on your panel. Bring a partner or friend and snacks and drinks to stay fueled!
