Beginner Woodworking Skills - Cutting Boards

This class is designed to give beginners an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the woodshop. Students will learn shop safety protocols and how to operate a number of the most commonly used machines safely. This project was chosen to allow students to learn or further develop skills using the miter saw, thickness planer, table saw, jointer, and router. No prior experience is necessary. Students should plan to attend all three classes.

By making either one large or two small cutting boards, students will learn how to take rough sawn lumber and turn it into an attractive finished cutting or serving board. With holidays just around the corner, your handmade cutting boards make the perfect gift for friends or family.
