We are delighted to announce that we are taking our famous West Ham Way Events on the road. Traditionally these have always been prematch events but now we are offering our second evening event to you.
The event will take place at La Quinta Restaurant which is situated in a perfect location in Benfleet in Essex. The venue has parking and there is also the magnet carpark opposite that can be used too. The venue offers a great sound system, it is spacious with a wide range of drinks available on offer.
We are delighted that Mad Dog Martin Allen, will also host this event for us. Martin Allen played for 6 years in the claret and blue and accumulated over 200 appearances. During his time he scored 25 goals and played under 3 different managers. He got his reputation as being a little bit eccentric and this comes across in his presenting style too. Martin also had 13 different spells as a club manager and works for the Referee's association and as a club ambassador who also does stadium tours. This means he can cover a range of topics with much inside knowledge.
James Collins did his first public event with us back in February 2019 and we could have sold it three times over so you will have to move quickly to get your tickets. James originally joined us with good friend Danny Gabbidon from Cardiff in 2005. He went onto feature in many eventful games including being on the bench for our FA Cup final in 2006. He then played in the great escape season when Carlos Tevez's goal at Old Trafford miraculously kept us up. He then left the club in 2009 to join Aston Villa. After 3 years at Villa he returned to the club under Sam Allardyce in 2012 and controversially leaving in 2018 despite many fans wanting him to stay. In total he made 188 league appearances for the club and scored 6 goals. He played under David Moyes during the manager's first spell and alongside many of the current players now. There will be so much to cover in this event make sure you don't miss out.
Matthew Etherington is a great friend of James Collins they were best men at each other's wedding so you know the banter and onstage relationship is going to be great. Matty joined the club in 2003 from rivals Spurs in exchange for Kanoute and we also received £3.5m too. Matty played 195 games for West Ham scoring 18 goals. He played in two playoff finals (assisting Bobby Zamora in one) and a Fa Cup final whilst at the club. He is also a former Hammer of the year having won the award in 2004. Matty has had well documented off the field issues too which is happy to talk about so this will be a great eye opening chat.
Our ticket prices are £25 to non patreons which need to be bought from this link, £20 to patreons which should be paid as cash in hand on the door with your name put beneath the patreon post and £10 for children bought from this link.
We cannot wait to see you all there. If this event is a success we will look to do more in this location and in other parts of Essex and Kent.
