Join us at our Morris Wine Shop for an extraordinary deep dive into one of the world’s most singular winegrowing places: Mount Etna.
Join us for an intimate Masterclass in volcanic terroir, Sicilian varieties, and the remarkable wines of Alberto Graci.
'This is a tasting about place in its most elemental form: rock becoming soil, soil becoming vine, and vine becoming wine.' – Jacob

On Etna, the story begins beneath the vine. Few places make the influence of soil, altitude, exposure, and geology so immediate and so profoundly specific. Across the volcano’s slopes, ancient lava flows have created an astonishing mosaic of soils—layer upon layer of volcanic history, each capable of imprinting its own character on the wines grown above it.
For this Masterclass, we turn our attention to Alberto Graci, whose eponymous estate was founded in 2005 with a singular philosophy: low-intervention winemaking, organically farmed vineyards, native Sicilian varieties, and an unwavering respect for the place itself.
Working exclusively on Etna’s cooler northern slopes, Graci farms at remarkable elevations, where altitude, volcanic soils, and dramatic diurnal shifts create wines of extraordinary precision and individuality. His work with Carricante and Nerello Mascalese offers a rare opportunity to taste just how specifically a wine can speak of where it comes from.
As Alberto Graci puts it:
“Lava? We are fatalists. We don’t care. It’s normal for us.”
For us, that lava is anything but ordinary.
Our dear friend and colleague Jon Carr will lead us through a remarkable lineup of Graci wines, exploring the extraordinary specificity that volcanic geology can bring to the glass, and why, on Etna, understanding the soil is essential to understanding the wine.
THIS POUR LIST WILL BE A DELICIOUS SURPRISE; 21+ ID IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
