When Skylar, a cloistered nun, gets word of her sister's death, her
life's future suddenly comes into question. Granted eight days outside
the convent by the Mother Abbess, Skylar ventures out on a pilgrimage to
the religious town of Chimayo, New Mexico, where her sister is buried.
On her journey Skylar is joined by two other outsiders, a runaway
teenager and a train-hopping drifter, whose presence and friendship
challenge her life's dedication to God. I AM THAT is a sparkling modern
pop style film whose novelty and original soundtrack breathe new life
into the timeless story of the pursuit to find connection and certainty
in one's life.
The film will be followed by a Q&A with director Joy Marzec, lead actress Amielynn Abellera, and lead actor Matteo Scammell.

About the Director
On opening night of the first play Joy directed, she couldn't figure out why she was so disappointed with her work, but then she realized what had happened, she had visualized the entire play in shots. The next year she wrote and directed a short film, The Medicine Wheel. She has written and directed two feature films, Bhakti Boy, and, I AM THAT. Bhakti Boy was never released to the public. On all three projects she has collaborated with costume and production designer, Christine Meyers, and composer, Mitch Marzec. I AM THAT is currently being submitted to film festivals. Joy is writing her third feature titled, Survival of the Holy Fools.
