The World Transformed is back in Liverpool

The world is in the grip of multiple emergencies, and Keir Starmer isn’t going to save us. Elon Musk isn’t going to save us either. Neither will King Charles or Gary Lineker. We have to be honest about the scale of what we’re facing, but we also have to insist that it doesn’t have to be like this.

Every year since 2016, TWT has been bringing thousands of people together, and this year we’ll again be at the Black-E and other illustrious Liverpool venues, with trainings, debates and workshops on all the critical issues. You can expect fan favourites like the pub quiz, innovations like our upgraded TV studio and the most important activists, thinkers and politicians on the left.  Most importantly, you can catch up with old comrades over a cup of tea or a pint in the Black-E, where we'll be running our own bar and kitchen, and giving you proper space to connect, plan and celebrate. We’ll also be showcasing the finest in radical arts and culture and while we’re at it, we’ll have a good time at some of the biggest and best parties in the city.

Accommodation tickets information

We’ve got space at wonderful community halls from Friday 6th to Wednesday 11th. The halls are at St Michael’s in the City and St Dunstan’s. It’s not the Ritz, but it is very good value. All facilities have toilets. Showers will be available at other TWT venues, and we’ll do our best to make these as accessible as possible. TWT will provide camp beds, but you’ll need to bring your own bedding. You’ll need to help set up your bed each night, and clear it each morning at set times. There will be locked storage throughout the day for belongings but it’ll be at your own risk as the buildings are in use during the day. Tickets including accommodation are only suitable for people who are confident they’ll be able to comply with the above requirements, and who will enjoy a communal camping style experience… with the benefit for a church roof!

Ticket pricing, free tickets and pay it forward

We’ll level with you - offering unlimited free tickets is a challenging business strategy for a four-day left-wing event. But because we’re committed to removing barriers to participation, and building the biggest and most diverse movement possible, we and our partners subsidise ticket prices and offer free tickets, no questions asked. 

So, as usual, we’ve kept tickets as cheap as possible despite increased running costs. We'll be making savings wherever we can, and we continue to rely on an amazing group of volunteers to make the festival a reality.

However, all this only works if you buy the ticket that's most appropriate for your income. If you can afford to buy a Pay It Forward ticket, please do - it means we can organise to bring people from around the country to this festival, to get radical political education and training, and to build solidarity across the movement. 

To claim a free ticket for The World Transformed 2023, please email tickets@theworldtransformed.org with the subject header, 'TWT23 Free ticket, [name]'.  You don't need to provide any explanation or reason for requesting a free ticket. It may take us a few days before a volunteer gets back to you with instructions on how to claim a free ticket. Please allow up to 7 days before emailing again.
