Join us for an inspiring evening of creativity and connection! The event begins with a reading and Q&A session featuring guest writer Ulrike Durán Bravo to hear some work from writers living in Cornwall. The second half of the online event will be a relaxed open mic for you to share your work with other participants. Everyone's welcome, weather you're a writer who wants to share their work or if you just want to come and listen to some local talent.

Ulrike Durán Bravo is a German-Chilean writer and teacher, who lives in Cornwall, UK with her husband and children. She grew up moving between countries and learning languages, finding solace in a wide range of literatures. For most of her adult life she has worked as a teacher, sharing her love for words. In 2009 she earned an MA in Creative Writing from Southampton University with distinction. In 2024-25 she took part in the Literature Works mentoring programme WordSpace. Her short play Draco and Juno has been performed at the Berry Theatre. Ulrike’s short stories have been published in anthologies and magazines, including Solent Press, Cornwall Writers, and The London Reader. Her poetry has appeared in the Holyer an Gof shortlisted Mordardh and Mordros, being part of the all-female Mor Poets collective; as well as in Steel Jackdaw, Inkfish and Porridge magazines. Her favourite tree is the Monkey Puzzle and she loves swimming in the sea.
