‘Three Acres And A Cow’ connects the Norman Conquest and Peasants’ Revolt with current issues like Brexit, fracking, the housing crisis and food sovereignty movement via the Enclosures, English Civil War, Irish Land League and Industrial Revolution, drawing a compelling narrative through the radical people’s history of England in folk song, stories and poems. Part TED talk, part history lecture, part folk club sing-a-long, part poetry slam, part storytelling session… Come and share in these tales as they have been shared for generations.

Featuring Roo Bramley and Katherine Hallewell, see http://threeacresandacow.co.uk/ for more information.

The show will be held in line with government guidance on Covid 19. It will be outdoors in a well ventilated marquee/gazebos, with social distancing measures in place, and limited numbers to allow this. Sadly we will not be able to have a sing along, but we will still be giving out songbooks so you can read along, and sing the songs yourself when you get home. Please wrap up warm and bring a torch if you have one. Arrive at 6.30 for food and to be seated; the show will start at 7pm. There will be an interval.

The show will be held in Ryebank Fields, in support of the Save Ryebank Fields Campaign. For more information, see https://www.saveryebankfields.org/

If you would like to come to the show but cannot afford a concession ticket, please get in touch using the "Contact the event organiser" button at the bottom of this page, and we will provide you with a free ticket.
