Christian? Single? Love to soak in the depth of art pieces, yet let it all out with a belly laugh?
Then this event is for you!
It’ll be Autumn, but we’d love you to come decked out in Summer colours - dress UP!
There’ll be amazing art pieces to ruminate on by wonderful artists, followed by a Comedy show (and even a battle!). We will be joined by:
JOY CARTER
So Brilliant’ Jo Brand, Comedian
‘Joy mines a rich seam of gold’ Lemn Sissay OBE Broadcaster/Writer
‘Her warmth, passion and incredibly high energy levels captured the audience’s imagination’ Dr Sharon Lockyer, Director at Centre for Comedy Studies Research, Brunel University
Joy Carter is an established radio/TV comedian, writer and adoption advocate along with her razor sharp live comedy shows. Currently she will be appearing in Woman Alive Magazine October 2024 talking about her work as a comedian and adoption advocate. She has worked for Sky as a ‘humourous’ news commentator to guest radio appearances on LBC and BBC Radio London. It was in 2008 when Joy was recognised by being nominated for the Best New Comedian EMMA award (*Ethnic multicultural media award) that she started to realise how the power of overcoming her early life struggles had shaped and empowered her to do more. Joy was orphaned and later adopted in Nigeria into a white family, she grew up in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire where Joy faced racism and more personal loss.
Her fearless nature set her in good stead and has seen her perform at The Comedy Store, The London Hilton Jo Malone Beauty Awards, The Edinburgh Festival (sell out show) and she comes with a long list of powerful corporate clients including Schroder’s Wealth Management, Care for the Family, Brunel University and Coram Baaf. Her adoption work and podcast has seen her featured in Good Housekeeping Magazine, Company, and Best Magazine to name a few. Joy is passionate about applying the power of joy into all her work and using her gifts to inspire others to be their authentic self. Humour is always her trademark.
ONOJIE
Onojie is a Nigerian born comedian / storyteller, now based in London. His entertaining anecdotes around the intersections of culture, family and immigrant life are hilarious and not to be missed!
You’ll enjoy canapés, bowl food and drinks over the course of the night.
