Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum is an established visitor attraction just four miles east of Keswick in the Lake District
The Museum has an indoor display dedicated to the mining and quarrying heritage of the local area, outside is the largest collection of Vintage Excavators in the UK (some 80 machines in the collection) and there is the narrow gauge railway.
The railway, which uses steam and diesel locomotives, is currently 1/2 a mile in length and a trip takes around 20 minutes.
