Join us on September 9th at 10am at the Dublin City Council Wood Quay Venue at Fishamble St, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, D08 RF3F for our "Preventing Homelessness and the Private Rental Sector: a Systems Thinking Approach" conference.
The development of a National Homelessness Prevention Framework is currently underway and represents an important step towards a more comprehensive approach to preventing homelessness. This conference will highlight the potential of prevention-focused policies and practices, explore how prevention can be implemented effectively, and consider how best to resource, measure, and sustain preventative interventions within a systems-thinking framework.
The day will be opened by Oliver Holt, Threshold’s Chairperson, and include a keynote address from Dr. Ligía Teixeira, CEO of the Centre for Homelessness Impact, and Dr. Lorcan Sirr with act as the event’s rapporteur and providing a summary of the day’s learnings.
The day will include two panels: Prevention in Practice and Moving Upstream. Contributions to these panels will be made by Threshold advisors, Dr. Peter Mackie (Institute of Global Homelessness), Bob Jordan (UCD), Dr. Anna Visser (Department of the Taoiseach), Jamie Miller (Housing Rights), and Dr. Tricia Keilthy (Ombudsman for Children).
The day will begin with refreshments and lunch will be provided. Please make sure to indicate any dietary requirements when reserving your space. This event is wheelchair accessible.
