On Saturday 7 March 2026, the eve of International Women’s Day, Diana Stroia, the High Sheriff of West Glamorgan 2025-2026 will be hosting the High Sheriff’s Civic Ball at Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, in aid of Thrive Domestic Abuse Services.

For over 45 years, Thrive Domestic Abuse Services has provided a haven for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, supporting women, children, young people and families to rebuild their lives and regain independence within safe and supportive communities.

This is more than a ball. It is a statement. A statement that women are worth celebrating. That families are worth protecting. That children deserve to grow up safe, free from fear and violence and that domestic abuse has no place in the future of our communities.

As this is a Civic Event, there will be dignitaries and senior officials present, plus an evening of wonderful entertainment, drinks on arrival, a 3-course meal, dancing and above all, a shared purpose.

Let this be a night where our community shows up visibly, proudly and with intention.

We look forward to welcoming you all to this impactful evening!

Please note: This is a Black-Tie event for over 18s only (chains and decorations may also be worn)

Drinks reception from 6pm.

The starter for this event will be a Welsh cheddar, braised leek and chive tartlet, followed by a choice of either roast breast of chicken served with gratin potato, honey-glazed carrots and fine beans, or an individual butternut squash and blue cheese pithivier for vegetarian guests.
