Join us for a unique session that brings place-based pedagogy to life—where children’s activities are deeply rooted in their local environment and community. Discover how walking familiar paths through new perspectives can spark curiosity, wonder, and meaningful learning.

Led by Henry Mathias, Learning and Development Lead at Thrive Outdoors and former Head of Professional Standards and Practice at the Care Inspectorate, this session offers practical steps to connect with the plants, animals, and people—past and present—who share your space.

We will meet at CALA (Care and Learning Alliance), at Beechwood Inverness Campus, IV2 5NA.

You will be guided on a short nature and heritage walk to illustrate a place-based approach, so please come dressed for the weather.

Tea and coffee will be available.

Car parking is available. There is cycle parking on campus and a regular bus service runs to the Beechwood Campus.
