Events list

Théâtre Roulant embodies the creative spirit of a group of professional theatre makers who entertain audiences with original works of drama, comedy and music. With many seasons under its belt, Théâtre Roulant has become a mainstay in the cultural landscape of Prince Edward County.

In 2022, Théâtre Roulant broke from the tradition of a bricks and mortar venue and put its stage on wheels and Canada’s only horse-drawn theatre was born. This travelling theatre model allow us to advantage the eclectic venues the region offers, and allows us to reach new audiences in a selection of locations and to align our productions with existing festivals, fairs and other events. Lower overhead means that revenues are mainly devoted to supporting actors, musicians, technical craft, production and production crew.

Théâtre Roulant is an incorporated not-for-profit organization with a volunteer board of directors. A key tenet of the theatre is its recognition of artists and the need to compensate them fairly so that they can further develop their talents and continue to live and work here. As such, fees are paid to our contributing artists, compensation that recognizes hard work, dedication and formidable talent.
