Thursday Night Music Club has presented its annual Jazz Showcase at Florida State University for 18 years. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 20 years of TNMC.

The name is pretty straightforward: a group of talented local musicians gathers every Thursday to rehearse time-honored favorites. We also perform throughout the year at local events and fundraisers, but the Jazz Showcase at Ruby Diamond is special because we get to play in a historic performance hall — and enjoy something truly coveted in August: an indoor performance!

TNMC began in a living room in January 2006 with a full trombone section and a simple plea for others to join us. Our first director was fellow trombonist, the late Francis Farr. (Let that be a message to anyone who doubts the power of a strong trombone section.)
