Mac Demarco is coming to Tide and Boar Ballroom Thursday December 4th!

Mac DeMarco is the laid-back, genre-blurring indie rock hero of the 2010s, known for his signature “slacker rock” sound, offbeat humor, and effortlessly cool songwriting.

His signature mix of dreamy, chorus-drenched guitars and laid-back grooves evolved further with This Old Dog (2017) and Here Comes the Cowboy (2019), albums that leaned more into introspection and stripped-down instrumentation. Despite his chilled-out sound, DeMarco is a magnetic live performer, known for wild antics, goofy stage presence, and an undeniable connection with his fans.

Beyond the music, Mac has become a cultural icon—his DIY ethos, vintage aesthetic, and off-kilter sense of humor have made him a beloved figure in indie circles. Whether he’s crooning about love, nostalgia, or existential musings, DeMarco remains effortlessly authentic, proving that sometimes the best way to stand out is to simply do your own thing.

Australia's Tex Crick writes melodic piano pop with a soft heart and wry intelligence. Rising from small town roots on the country's south coast, he cut his teeth in the mid-2010s as a touring keyboardist for artists like Kirin J. Callinan, Iggy Pop, and Weyes Blood before a chance encounter with Mac DeMarco in New York led to the release of his solo debut. Self-recorded between tours in a New York apartment and released by DeMarco's personal label, Live In...New York City arrived in March 2021, followed by 2023's Sweet Dreamin'.
