Caroline and Mandie warmly invite you to gather around the fire as we celebrate Samhain β the Witchesβ New Year.
As the Wheel of the Year turns and the days draw deeper into darkness, Samhain brings us to a powerful threshold β a time of endings, remembrance and new beginnings.
Traditionally, Samhain is a time when the veil between the worlds is believed to be at its thinnest. It is a night to honour those who have walked before us, remember our ancestors and open ourselves to the wisdom and guidance that may come through.
Together, we will create a sacred space around the fire, connecting with the land, our ancestors and spirit. We will slow down, tune in and make space for those who wish to step forward with a message for us at this time.
This is not about forcing or seeking a particular person or message. Instead, it is about creating the space to listen β to become quiet enough to notice what may come through, whether that is a word, feeling, image, memory, knowing or gentle sense of presence.
As we enter the dark half of the year, we will also welcome the Cailleach, the ancient Crone and keeper of winter, honouring her wisdom, the stillness of the darker months and the deep rest from which new life will eventually emerge.
β¨ The Eveningβs Journey β¨
π₯ Creating the Ancestor Altar
We will create an ancestor altar together, bringing offerings and tokens from our hearts and harvests.
Photographs, jewellery, flowers, herbs, fruit, bread or meaningful objects can become a bridge of remembrance β a place to honour those who came before us and invite their loving presence into our circle.
π―οΈ Connecting with Spirit
As the evening deepens, we will create a safe and sacred space for spiritual connection.
Through meditation, stillness and guided exercises, we will tune in to the subtle energies around us and open ourselves to those who may wish to come forward with a message.
You may receive through feeling, hearing, seeing, sensing or simply knowing. There is no right or wrong way to experience this β we will encourage you to trust your own intuition and allow whatever comes to come gently.
You may wish to bring your journal or Book of Shadows to record anything you experience or any messages that feel meaningful to you.
π A Shared Harvest Feast
Together we will share a final harvest feast, celebrating community, gratitude and the abundance of the year that is passing.
In the spirit of old Samhain traditions, we will also set a plate for our ancestors and those who wish to join us.
Please bring a dish that honours your family, heritage or personal traditions to share.
βοΈ Welcoming the Cailleach
As the Wheel turns, we will welcome the Cailleach into her season.
We will honour the wisdom of the Crone, the keeper of winter and the ancient understanding that darkness is not something to fear, but a necessary part of the cycle of rest, transformation and rebirth.
We will sit with the stillness of this time and consider what we are ready to release, what we wish to carry forward and what we are allowing to rest until the light returns.
