"The Firebird" ~ Tim Ralphs & "Monstrous" ~ Sez Thomasin

Tim Ralphs (he/him) presents the digital debut of The Firebird. Aleksandr Afanas'ev collected a version of this classic Russian folk story that was sparse and intriguing - rich in fabulous imagery but a bit lacking in narrative logic. Never one to shy from a challenge, Tim has stitched it together with thread taken from a dozen different traditional tales. Talking horses. Cruel Kings. Gold-greedy Princesses. Crustacean Etiquette. What more could you want?

Tim Ralphs (British Award for Storytelling Excellence winner 2012. **** Fringe Guru) is a storyteller with over a decade of working with traditional narrative. He specialises in the creation of intricately interwoven performance pieces that showcase storytelling as an adult artform.

Sez Thomasin (they/them) is an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor. As such it is their job to represent seldom heard communities and make sure their voices are heard. Over the last few months they have been interviewing members of a much maligned and misunderstood community in our midst. Monsters.

In Monstrous you’ll hear the true stories of gnomes, ogres, yetis, zombies, and perhaps a few others you’ve never even heard of. Forget what you’ve been told by the Brothers Grimm. Learn the truth about the creatures and cryptids that always get left out of our history books.

(Sez is also a performance poet, so some of these testimonials rhyme.)

Three kinds of tickets are available. A "General Admission" which will set you back £5.00 per device. A "Discount Ticket"... which is free. We know times are harder for some people than others right now, and we'd much rather have you with us than not. And for those of you feeling flush, we've included an option for a "One for me, one for thee" ticket, where you're effectively gifting a ticket to someone else who can't afford one.
