Description
Lapidary Part Two
In this class you will learn how to shape and polish a stone for further use in jewelry, inlay and more. Shaping stones or Cabbing is part of Jewelry fabrication.
Creating cabochons is a lapidary process, one that was created for jewelers to include in their fabrications. Some Lapidary artists are jewelry artists and vice versa. And some Lapidary artists only work with minerals, stone and silica.
In this class you will be introduced to the Cab King lapidary shaping arbor, the flat lap, and some smaller tools for creating cabochons. You will learn how to shape the stone you cut in the 500 class into something you could wrap or create a setting for in a piece of jewelry, or other accoutrements.
