Intro to Resin 3D Printing & Certification
About this class:
Learn how to use TinkerMill's mSLA, SLA, and DLP resin 3D printers. These printers offer a higher quality than traditional FDM printers - perfect for DnD figurines, organic shapes, and precise mechanical parts!
In this class, you will learn:
- The core technology behind resin printers
- The different types of resin printers and resin varieties, and their respective use cases
- Safety precautions and protocols for resin printing
- How to import, prepare, and effectively support and slice a 3D model for resin printing
- How to operate the resin printers at Tinkermill (example models will be included, or you can bring your own)*
- How to effectively clean and post-process your parts
- A brief overview of the most popular sculpting and design software most often used with resin printing (Blender, Nomad Sculpt, Z-brush)**
- There will also be a Q&A with the instructor, time permitting.
- Supplies for the class are included in the admission price
* If you intend to bring your own model, please email the instructor first so they can inspect it to ensure it will print correctly.
** We have plans to offer an intro to digital sculpting / DnD mini design class - if you are interested, please e-mail the instructor

About the instructor(s):
The instructor for this class is Matt Foglia (matt.foglia@tinkermill.org / 205-724-9336). Matt spent twenty years as a 3D artist for VFX and gaming, and is an excellent resource for learning the basics of the hobby, including digital sculpting and design.
