Intro to Soldering Electronics - Make a Tiny Piano!

Discover the art and skill of soldering in this hands-on course designed for beginners! Whether you're interested in hobby electronics projects or pursuing a career in electronics assembly, mastering soldering techniques is essential. With this course, you will learn the fundamentals of soldering, from handling a soldering iron safely to assembling components on a circuit board with a fun project you get to take home.
Ages 10+ welcome *legal guardian supervision required
Course Content [Approximately 3hr Class]:
Introduction to Soldering Tools and Materials: Understand the essential tools such as soldering irons, solder wire, flux, and how to safely use them. Learn to identify through-hole electronic components commonly used in circuit assembly. Master proper soldering techniques including tinning, soldering joints, and de-soldering.
Hands-On Assembly Project: Apply your new skills by assembling a push-button piano circuit! This project integrates all learned techniques and culminates in a functional and entertaining electronic device. Gain proficiency in using a soldering iron and other soldering tools effectively, develop the ability to recognize and handle through-hole components with confidence, acquire essential soldering skills to create reliable electrical connections. Complete a push-button piano project, demonstrating your understanding of soldering and electronics assembly.

Target Audience: This course is ideal for beginners (ages 10+) with no prior experience in soldering or electronics assembly. It is also suitable for hobbyists looking to enhance their skills in creating electronic devices.
Requirements: No prior experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided for use during the course.
