CAD for Change!

Sometimes we’re teaching people. Sometimes we’re making stuff for TinkerMill. Sometimes we’re just staring at a table until it stares back and whispers secrets about the meaning of tape. It’s impossible to know in advance. That’s the feature.

I’m Ed, a Shop Captain for TinkerMill’s Rapid Prototyping Shop, and your leader for CAD for Change, which mostly means I will occasionally say something funny, sometimes make a terrible pun, and occasionally fail spectacularly at basic event management. But here’s the thing: if you are willing to show up anyway, you will leave with some kind of idea. Maybe it’s brilliant. Maybe it’s dumb. Maybe it’s the first step toward building a catapult that launches ideas directly into your neighbor’s yard. All are valid.

Expect contradictions. Expect the serious and the ridiculous to collide in a slow-motion tango. Expect to have conversations that begin with 3D printers and end with questioning reality. Expect random objects to become metaphors for life. Expect to think, “Wait, why am I laughing while learning about resin curing?”

Bring a project, a question, a wild brainwave, or just your face. We will provide the chaos, the accidental brilliance, and definitely the pizza 🍕 Come for the learning. Stay for the absurdity. Leave with something you didn’t expect—but absolutely needed.
