Public Meeting - Torbay Council and Local Government Reorganisation

At this free engagement event, which is open to the public, there will be a presentation and Q&A on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) at The Scala, Brixham Town Hall, on Tuesday 12 August 2025.

The event will explain what government has asked, some of Torbay's options, and the timelines that have been laid out. We will take your feedback we receive into account as we develop our proposal. Government has stressed the timeline is fixed and so we need to submit our proposal by 28 November 2025.

Presenting at this event will be Councillor David Thomas who is the Leader of Torbay Council, and also Leader of the Opposition, Swithin Long,  who is the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Torbay Council.

Your feedback is important and you can do this via our online survey: Your views on Local Government Reorganisation - there will be also paper copies available on the night of the event, but please do have a look at the online survey beforehand to give you an idea of what will be discussed. There are also paper copies available at all four libraries across the Bay until the survey closes on Sunday 31 August 2025.

The event is free, but anyone wishing to attend is asked to book in advance. Please share with your friends and families and help us to spread the word about this important engagement opportunity!

Scala is fully accessible and located on the ground floor. It has its own entrance located on Market Street.
