Sing and act in the chorus of a fully staged opera experience as a member of the Toronto City Opera Chorus!

Our Fall 2026 show is La bohème by Puccini - A luminous portrait of young artists chasing love and life in the midst of poverty.

No audition required to join the TCO Chorus!

Rehearsals start October 15th, and performances are November 27th and 29th.

This production is a fully staged opera sung in Italian with piano accompaniment. As this is a staged production, memorization of the chorus parts is necessary. An audition is not required but you should have an ability to read music. You will be fitted for a costume. You will be provided with a PDF file of the chorus parts and other learning tools, and you are expected to prepare and practice your music before and between rehearsals.

About La bohème

When the seamstress Mimì meets the poet Rodolfo, their romance blossoms amid friendship, laughter, and the harsh realities of poverty. With some of the most unforgettable melodies in opera, Giacomo Puccini’s romantic masterpiece captures the beauty and fragility of love. The chorus will star as townspeople enjoying Christmas Eve festivities at a Christmas market.
