Zonga is an afro contemporary creation that questions the restitution of African artworks to their motherland. Zonga, which means return in lingala , gives body to what museums often leave unsaid: memory, displacement and the beauty of what was taken. It is a journey where movement becomes language, where ancestral rhythms meet contemporary beats. The power of return the objects, souls and identities.

This performance is built around four masks, symbols that are both objects and the People who wear them, within a contemporary Africa that is no longer the Africa; these masks once knew when they left.
Through a dialogue between tradition and modernity, Zonga invites the audience to reflect on restitution from a new perspective, questioning points of view and opening a space for exchange. The staging, imbued with power and poetry, brings essential questions to life: how can these objects be reintegrated into a world in transformation? What role do they play in relationship between memory and present?
